Julen Ucar, an Orange County High School Senior on the Autism Spectrum, is Giving Back to the Autism Society with his “Ausome” Steak & Salad Dressing Sauces!
Julen has a way with “Ausome” flavors and has turned his passion for cooking into promoting autism awareness. Julen and his mother partnered with a local Orange County restaurant, Ways & Means, and is currently supplying them with his “Ausome” Sauce, currently 2 flavorful sauces; one that’s spicy for steak and the other a dual-vinegar multi-herbed salad dressing that he created himself from scratch. These sauces are not only being paired with the restaurant’s most popular dishes but it’s also now being sold throughout the Orange County community. To know where each cent goes, each “Ausome” purchase will be fully donated towards autism research. To have already launched such a comprehensive business and social plan with his sauce, one would think that this endeavor would be more than sufficient to keep Julen busy. But he’s just getting started. Julen has more in store, where he recently shared in his interview with ABC News, that he’ll be attending OCC for Culinary school in the fall. He’s a reminder and an inspiration that “although we have to accept the reality of [our loved ones] true limitations,” that it doesn’t define who they are. BHW would like to congratulate and celebrate with Julen and his new culinary adventures. Stay tuned for future updates as we see what he’s up to next!
